During the Middle Ages, a waffle was a luxurious delicacy reserved for kings. A real delicacy, a magical moment. Top pastry chef Roger van Damme wants to translate that feeling into the 21st century with the Désirée crockery. “I'm a fan of white tableware myself, but for Désirée I wanted to add that sweet touch in the form of a warm pink shade,” explains the pastry chef. “The gold trim should accentuate that luxurious feeling of patisserie, without being kitschy.”
